Group therapy for teens to practice mindfulness and self-expression!

Teens often are dealing with tremendous expectations, transitions, and pressures. These can contribute to high-stress experience. This group is designed to give teens an outlet for practicing emotional and social skills, developing practices that help them cultivate peace, and giving them different avenues for self-expression.

Why group therapy for teens, anyway?

Groups have a special place in the world of therapy. They help us learn to very directly practice interpersonal skills, to listen to and be heard by our peers in the context of a safe environment. This can reduce the sense of isolation that so many individuals feel. It can foster a sense of connection, and help individuals develop more sense of confidence in expressing themselves.

Learning these skills helps teens build a foundation they can draw upon in all their subsequent relationships.

Skills that we learn, practice, and use in relationship become the foundation for our relating. Discerning how and with whom we can express ourselves helps us to develop confidence in relationship, leading to more satisfying connections.
